The main goals of this group are to awaken the senses and enable children to learn to stand upright. Learning how to walk in order to achieve autonomy, this is the major challenge that each baby takes up within the Nido. We also devote special attention to the child’s physical and psychological well-being and all of the various living spaces offer the child fixed references and the possibility of forming the enriching links that are essential for harmonious socialisation.
A space, laid out in a room adjacent to the living room guarantees the infant’s autonomy, with open-sided beds installed at ground level. This enables each of the infants the freedom to access them whenever they want throughout the day, in accordance with their own sleep patterns.
Initially, the child will have meals with the help of a teacher, whilst at the same time retaining freedom of movement. Then, as soon as the child has learned how to sit properly, he or she can feed themselves, at the weaning table Find out more about feeding in the crèche.
As the child grows, he or she needs to develop the motor skills acquired: walking, crawling, climbing, rolling, dancing, etc. The child therefore benefits from specific equipment for balancing and locomotion activities: a motricity platform, modules made from foam, wall support bars, etc.
Cosy corners enable shifting from a position where they are lying flat on their back to lying flat on their stomach under completely safe conditions. Here, each baby can discover the mobiles hanging overhead, and explore the various audio, visual and grabbing activities.
Whilst seated, baby will be offered hand/eye co-ordination activities. A little later on, spoken language with matching activities, sing-alongs and stories will enable a smooth passage to the next module
